HIVE
The HIVE coffee table was inspired by astonishing wild beehives. Honey bees are essential for the pollination of flowers, fruits and vegetables, and support crop production. But the bee situation is an environmental crisis that threatens not only millions of honeybee hives but one out of every three bites of humans’ and big livestock’s food. Honey bees – wild and domestic are dying from a variety of factors: pesticides, drought, habitat destruction, nutrition deficit, air pollution, global warming and more.
The inspiration for HIVE table came from wild beehives where the bees envelope trees branches to organize their colony. The legs of the table covered with fabric are direct symbolizing of wild bee hives. The table is made out of natural materials, namely from a combination of wood and fabric upholstery woven from bouclé yarn. Wooden surfaces are polished with beeswax which is a safe effective way to give a long lasting durable and natural looking shine.
